Scientists like Pervez Hoodbhoy, Anti Islamic propagandists and also some people who hate Imam Ahmad Ridha Khan Barelvi (Rahimahullah) make fun of him due to his viewpoint that earth is stationary. I also used to consider him wrong in this regard but now I know his viewpoint is sound. 

Wahabis who bash him should see the video I have uploaded of Wahabi scholars like Bandar al Khaibari, Salih bin Fawzan, and Ubayd al Jabiri asserting that earth is stationary and sun orbits it.  See video Here

Remember absolute truth is found in Quran, Sunnah and Islam. Any scientific research is not binding upon us to follow if it contradicts our primary sources. Plus viewpoints and theories in science keep on changing. Science in past asserted that Sun is stationary, however later science discovered that It is also moving. Similarly the viewpoint that Earth is moving is not something binding upon us to believe in. 

Qur'an states: 

اَمَّنۡ جَعَلَ الۡاَرۡضَ قَرَارًا...

Translation: Is not He (better than your gods) WHO HAS MADE THE EARTH AS A FIXED ABODE... (Qur'an 27:61. Translation by Wahabis, Muhsin Khan/Hilali. Capitilized by me and also in next references parts are capitilized)

Note at the word قَرَارًا

Tafsir Ibn Kathir states under this verse:

(Is not He Who has made the earth as a fixed abode,) MEANING, STABLE AND STATIONARY, SO THAT IT DOES NOT MOVE OR CONVULSE, because if it were to do so, it would not be a good place for people to live on. But by His grace and mercy, HE HAS MADE IT SMOOTH AND CALM, AND IT IS NOT SHAKEN OR MOVED.

Tafsir al Jalalyn states under this verse:

Or He Who made the earth an abode of stability THAT DOES NOT CONSTANTLY SHAKE BENEATH THE FEET OF ITS INHABITANTS...

Qur'an states:

اَلۡقٰی فِی الۡاَرۡضِ رَوَاسِیَ اَنۡ  تَمِیۡدَ بِکُمۡ  وَ اَنۡہٰرًا وَّ سُبُلًا  لَّعَلَّکُمۡ تَہۡتَدُوۡنَ

Translation: And He has affixed into the earth mountains standing firm, LEST IT SHOULD SHAKE WITH YOU; and rivers and roads, that you may guide yourselves. (16:15. Translation by Muhsin Khan/Hilali)

Under 16:15 Tafsir al Jalalyn states:

And He cast into the earth firm mountains LEST IT SHOULD SHAKE MOVE WITH YOU....

Tafsir Ibn Kathir states: 

Then Allah mentions the earth and how He placed in it mountains standing firm, WHICH MAKE IT STABLE AND KEEP IT FROM SHAKING in such a manner that the creatures dwelling on it would not be able to live.

Qur'an states:

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ یُمۡسِکُ  السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضَ اَنۡ تَزُوۡلَا  ۬ ۚ وَ لَئِنۡ زَالَتَاۤ  اِنۡ  اَمۡسَکَہُمَا مِنۡ اَحَدٍ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِہٖ ؕ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ حَلِیۡمًا غَفُوۡرًا

Translation: Verily! Allâh GRASPS the heavens and the earth LEST THEY SHOULD MOVE AWAY FROM THEIR PLACES, and if they were to move away from their places, there is not one that could grasp them after Him. Truly, He is Ever Most Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving. (35:41. Translation by Muhsin Khan/Hilali) 

Under 35:41 Tafsir Ibn Kathir states: 

(Verily, Allah grasps the heavens and the earth lest they should move away from their places,) means, lest they should "SHIFT FROM WHERE THEY ARE."

Although Tanwir al Miqbas has an inauthentic chain to Ibn Abbas r.a. however it states under this verse:

(Lo! Allah graspeth) holds (the heavens and the earth that they deviate not) SO THAT THEY DO NOT MOVE FROM THEIR ACTUAL PLACE because of the enormity of the claim of the Jews and Christians when they maintained that Ezra and Jesus were the sons of Allah, (and if they were to deviate) and if they were to move from their actual place (there is not one that could grasp them after Him. Lo! He is ever Clement) despite the claim of the Jews and Christians, (Forgiving) He forgives whoever repents of them.

Qur'an states:

وَ جَعَلۡنَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ رَوَاسِیَ اَنۡ  تَمِیۡدَ بِہِمۡ ۪ وَ جَعَلۡنَا فِیۡہَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا   لَّعَلَّہُمۡ  یَہۡتَدُوۡنَ

Translation: AND WE HAVE SET ON THE EARTH MOUNTAINS STANDING FIRM, LEST IT SHOULD SHAKE WITH THEM, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance. (21:31. Translation of Abdullah Yusuf Ali)

Tafsir Ibn Kathir states under this verse:

(And We have placed on the earth firm mountains,) MEANS, MOUNTAINS WHICH STABILIZE THE EARTH AND KEEP IT STEADY and lend it weight, LEST IT SHOULD SHAKE WITH THE PEOPLE I.E. MOVE AND TREMBLE  so that they would not be able to stand firm on it...

Tanwir al Miqbas Tafsir Ibn Abbas states under this verse:

(And We have placed in the earth firm hills) the mountains as pillars for it (lest it quake with them) LEST THE EARTH TREMBLES WITH THEM ON IT. 

Qur'an states:

لَا الشَّمۡسُ یَنۡۢبَغِیۡ لَہَاۤ اَنۡ تُدۡرِکَ الۡقَمَرَ  وَ لَا الَّیۡلُ سَابِقُ النَّہَارِ ؕ وَ کُلٌّ فِیۡ  فَلَکٍ  یَّسۡبَحُوۡنَ

Translation: It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. (36:40. Translation by Muhsin Khan/Hilali)

This verse proves that Sun and moon  are not stationary and they orbit. Which can prove that day and night come due to orbiting of Sun which is why we have sunrise and sunset. But the earth does not move. 

Qur'an states:

وَ الشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِیۡ لِمُسۡتَقَرٍّ  لَّہَا ؕ ذٰلِکَ تَقۡدِیۡرُ  الۡعَزِیۡزِ  الۡعَلِیۡمِ

Translation: And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. (36:38. Tranalation by Muhsin Khan/Hilali) 

This verse also proves that sun moves but not earth. 

Qur'an states:

اَلشَّمۡسُ وَ الۡقَمَرُ  بِحُسۡبَانٍ

Translation:The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning). (55:5. Translation by Muhsin Khan/Hilali)

Proves the same as mentioned above. 

Qur'an states:

یُوۡلِجُ  الَّیۡلَ فِی النَّہَارِ وَ یُوۡلِجُ  النَّہَارَ فِی الَّیۡلِ ۙ وَ سَخَّرَ الشَّمۡسَ وَ الۡقَمَرَ   ۫  ۖکُلٌّ یَّجۡرِیۡ  لِاَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّی ؕ ذٰلِکُمُ اللّٰہُ  رَبُّکُمۡ لَہُ  الۡمُلۡکُ ؕ وَ الَّذِیۡنَ تَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِہٖ مَا یَمۡلِکُوۡنَ مِنۡ  قِطۡمِیۡرٍ

Translation: He merges the night into the day and the day into the night, and has subjected the sun and the moon, each orbiting for an appointed term. That is Allah—your Lord! All authority belongs to Him. But those ˹idols˺ you invoke besides Him do not possess even the skin of a date stone. (35:13. Translation by Dr.Mustafa Khattab) 

Proves the same as mentioned above. 

Qur'an states:

وَ ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ خَلَقَ الَّیۡلَ وَ النَّہَارَ وَ الشَّمۡسَ وَ الۡقَمَرَ ؕ کُلٌّ فِیۡ  فَلَکٍ یَّسۡبَحُوۡنَ

Translation: And He is the One Who created the day and the night, the sun and the moon—each travelling in an orbit. (21:33. Translation by Dr. Mustafa Khattab). 

Some people derive from this verse that Earth also rotates in orbit. However this verse is talking about Sun and Moon. 

Logically speaking we see the Sun rising and setting and also moving which is a proof that earth does not move but rather Sun does and orbits the earth. We do not see the earth moving from our eyes. 

It has to be said that if people believe that Earth is not stationary then they should not be bashed or blamed. They have the right to have an opinion they think is correct.
